Truancy Report

Truancy Report for Habitual Truant Students

School units are required to enter habitual truancy data into Infinite Campus throughout the school year. School units can verify the accuracy of the truancy data by viewing the "Truancy Report" in Infinite Campus State Edition (ICSE). It is important to check the report at the end of the year to assure that all habitual truant students have been entered correctly.

Definition:
Habitual truant day count is now divided into 2 age categories:

  1. A student who has completed grade 6 is truant if they have the equivalent of 10 full days of unexcused absences or 7 consecutive school days of unexcused absences during a school year.
  2. A student who is at least 7 years of age and has not completed grade 6 is truant if they have the equivalent of 7 full days of unexcused absences or 5 consecutive school days of unexcused absences during a school year.

How to find the Truancy Report in ICSE:

Users with the proper access to truancy in ICSE can find the report and certification form under the "ME State Reporting" section on the Index tab. This report will include the date, school name and truancy level for each truant entry for the students. For example, each student should have an entry with the date in which they were "identified" as truant and may have multiple entries for each truancy level reached until the truancy is "resolved" or the student officially transfers to another school or dropouts.

  • Select the school year
  • Select "ME State Reporting" on the Index tab
  • Click on "Truancy Report"
  • Click on "Generate Report"

If errors are found on the report, make changes in Infinite Campus, and run the report again.
