Healthy Edge

Healthy Edge has been rescheduled for March 30 & 31, 2012. Anyone who was registered for the original course scheduled for last week will be contacted to see if they are still interested in attending. If you were not registered and would like to attend the flyer/registration form link is below.

Serve it Safe

March 8th (1-4pm) & March 9th (8:30am-3:30pm)-Massabesic High School-East Wing
A training for foodservice personnel at all levels covering introduction to safe and sanitary foodservice practices. Participants who pass the test will receive a Food Handler Certificate. *This training is NOT the same as ServSafe-the new required training for at least one certified Food Protection Manager per establishment. 15 people minimum. There is no cost to attend this training, to register contact Amy Webb at Amy.Webb@maine.gov or 624-6842.

This session will highlight steps that can simplify the Verification procedure that is required by November 20th of each year, to make it more efficient, and prevent errors. Review Training is intended for School Districts that received notification that they will have a National School Lunch Program Review this school year (2011/2012).

ServSafe® Training

There are several people that offer training around the state.  Child Nutrition Services is able to offer some training as well.  

 

WHAT THE HOST SITE WILL NEED TO PROVIDE

Training room able to sit comfortable the class size,

testing room that allows students to have their own work area

a projection screen

microphone (helpful),

min 20 participants

max usually 35 unless other arrangements are made

3 different districts represented

 

WHAT DOE WILL DO

provide the trainer,

obtain the books and test

handle registration

supply the LCD and laptop for trainer

 

TRAINING BY DOE/CNS ALREADY SECEDULED


The following are Pending:

 

Do you know you can test at DOE.  We offer the test once per month.  Registration ahead of time is required.  We need two weeks notice in order to order details.

If you need to retest you can do so within 30 days  A second retest you must wait at least 60 days. Contact us for more information.

Mid coast “Back to Scratch” Cooking and Processing Workshop
