Home > Special Services > Applications Applications for FundingThe Maine Department of Education is required annually to submit applications for federal funds under Parts B and C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Part B of IDEA covers special education services for preschool-age children (ages 3 to 5) with disabilities. Part C of IDEA covers special education services for infants and toddlers with disabilities. 2012The Maine Department of Education will accept written comments on its 2012 application for Part C funding through April 5, 2012. The application covers Maine Fiscal Year 2013. Follow the links below to review the application and find out how to submit comments.
2011
Note: Award amounts for Federal Fiscal Year 2011 are not yet available - we are advised to use 2010 values. Written comments will be accepted from the date the applications are first posted on the Department’s website February 25, 2011 to 5 PM on April 26, 2011. The Part B budget is for State Fiscal Year 2012. Comments are to be submitted to: Jan Breton, Federal Program Coordinator, Maine Department of Education, SHS #23, Augusta, ME or via email to janice.breton@maine.gov for the Part B application, and to Debra Hannigan, State Director of Child Development Services, SHS#23, Augusta, Maine or via email to debra.hannigan@maine.gov for the Part C application.
