Description and Registration Deadline

A free workshop on identification and detection of hemlock woolly adelgid will be presented. Workshop is limited to 30 participants; please register by 5:30pm Monday 8/11 (additional workshops may be offered this fall if there is demand)

10-12 am Saco Community Center

Hemlock identification and ecology

Hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) identification and ecology

How to survey for HWA

12-1 pm Break for Lunch (not provided) and travel to field site

1-2:30 pm Ferry Beach State Park

Field ID of host and insect and practice survey for HWA

Wrap up, fill out evaluation and pesticide continuing education credit forms
