Requirements for Shipping Plants From Maine to Other States

Printable version (.pdf)

An inspection certificate must be attached to all packages of plants being shipped from Maine. California and Arizona also require the following labeling information: name and address of shipper and receiver, state of origin of plants in package and common and botanical name of plants in package. Plants must be healthy and free of insects and diseases. Some states have regulations related to specific plant species and plant pests that are listed below. To the best of our knowledge this list was accurate at the time of posting. If you would like more information on a particular state's regulations visit the National Plant Board website. If you would like information on shipping plants internationally contact Horticulture, 207-287-3891.
