> Pest Survey & Management
Pest Survey & ManagementSurvey - through the Cooperative Agricultural Pest Survey Program (CAPS) With the ever increasing movement of people, goods, and plants around the world, pests introduced from other areas threaten the agricultural and natural resources of Maine. The CAPS Program provides an early detection and reponse system to minimize these pest impacts.
Management - through Integrated Pest Management (IPM) IPM is an approach to managing pests, such as insects and diseases, by relying on a combination of strategies that minimize the environmental, economic and health risks associated with controlling pests. The IPM Program seeks to promote and provide guidance in the principles of IPM.
Identification - through Pest Information An important step in controlling any pest is to accurately identify it. Check out our information sheets for help on identifying a pest or to learn more about a plant pest. |
