Plants are 8 to 14 feet tall, contact with sap causes blistery burn Unevenly lobed leaves, up to 5 feet long Hollow stems are 2-4 inches in diameter with rigid hairs, and purple blotches Flowers clusters up to 2 feet across, from mid June to late July
