ConnectME Authority, Designee for the State of Maine.

The ConnectME Authority has been awarded $5 million through the State Broadband Data and Development Program with match provided in the amount of $1.3 million. This funding will be used to identify broadband in unserved and underserved areas, plan broadband expansion throughout the state, build broadband capacity and increase digital literacy through technical assistance. To identify the underserved and unserved areas of the state and to plan broadband expansion, the ConnectME Authority has awarded contracts to James W. Sewall company for the Mapping and Planning Projects. The ConnectME Authority is partnering with the State Planning Office (SPO) to administer the Broadband Capacity Building Project and partnering with the Department of Education (DOE) to administer the Technical Assistance Project. The projects with SPO and DOE are in the preliminary stages with more information to be released as it becomes available. All projects will be working closely together to leverage information and resources in the most effecient manner.
