- Notification Pursuant to Domestic Violence Arrest
- When a law enforcement officer has requested notification
due to a Domestic Violence arrest, the arresting
officer will provide a domestic violence arrest form
with the victim contact information. The arrestee/inmate
folder will be flagged with a Release Notification

- Upon release of an arrestee/inmate with a Release
Notification Flag, ++ designated
jail staff ++ will
((contact Dispatch and:
- Advise DISPATCH a release notification must
be made;
- Give DISPATCH the name of the arrestee/inmate,
the name of the arresting officer and his/her
agency, and;
- Obtain the name of the Dispatcher receiving
the information AND LOG NAME. ))
- ++ Check the arrestee/inmate
folder for the release notification flag.
- Make telephone notification to the victim
at the numbers provided on the arrest form..
Attempts should continue until contact is made.
- Document the date and times of notification,
or attempts if contact is not made.
- Notify the victim witness advocate at the
prosecutors office if unable to make contact
with the victim.++
- ALL Victim notifications and attempts to do so will be
documented and documentation will be maintained in a
confidential section of the arrestee/inmate folder.
- Nothing in this policy prohibits notification of a release
on bail of an offender who has been arrested for a non
domestic violence offense when requested by the law enforcement
officer.
