PTDZ Certified, now what?
A company has received its letter of Pine Tree Development Zone certification from DECD. As a certified business you should be aware of the following requirements of the program:
- Hire and retain at least one net-new employee above employment baseline within first two calendar years of certification
- Complete and return the Notice for Sales/Use Tax Exemption Certificate (Word) to Maine Revenue Services to receive company's exemption certificate
- Contact your local electric service provider to negotiate a reduced rate
Annual Filing Requirements
- DECD will notify businesses to file an annual report on company's net new jobs and investment activity
- Your local Business Development Specialist will provide you with an ID and password to file your annual report online.
- DECD will notify businesses to file an ETIF reimbursement request by April 15th for the previous calendar year reflecting net new hires.
