Request for Proposals to Provide Stenographic Transcription Services

The Department of Environmental Protection (Department) is comprised of the Board of Environmental Protection, Commissioner and Department staff. The Board of Environmental Protection (Board) is a ten member citizen board that conducts numerous public hearings each year on proposed rules and, less frequently, public adjudicatory hearings on licensing applications. Issues addressed at public hearings are often highly technical in nature, covering air and water quality, land use, hazardous waste and solid waste matters. These hearings in which testimony is taken under oath provide evidence which is critical to the Board's decision making process and the proceedings must be accurately recorded. Persons providing stenographic transcription services for the Board and/or the Department must be able to accurately record multiple persons asking questions of a witness as well as questioning of panels with multiple witnesses testifying on a topic.
