The Narraguagus summary - Spatial and temporal patterns in Water Chemistry of the Narraguagus River is a review of all available information to date on the Narraguagus R water quality, including the results of investigations of DEP with local volunteer organizations, and what this may mean for salmon and trout conservation in the downeast area.

Atlantic Salmon Rivers Water Quality (Excel file).  As part of Maine’s Atlantic Salmon Conservation Plan, the Department of Environmental Protection has initially gathered existing water quality data for the Atlantic salmon rivers. Sources of data include the US Environmental Protection Agency, US Fish and Wildlife Service, Atlantic Salmon Authority, Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, University of Maine, consultants for special projects, as well as the Department of Environmental Protection. Not included here are temperature data from the Atlantic Salmon Authority and pesticide data from the Board of Pesticides Control. In addition there may be other data of which we are unaware. Volunteer Data for 1999-2001 (excel file). Water quality monitoring has begun for all the salmon rivers in the State’s Atlantic Salmon Conservation Plan. Monitoring will be conducted with the assistance of volunteers in the watersheds and the Board of Pesticides Control, and will track a variety of parameters under baseflow and stormflow conditions.
