Data has not been quality assured and should be considered 'raw' data. The forecast for Maine sites has been issued by MEDEP and is submitted to AIRNOW daily. Tomorrow's forecast should not be considered final until after 4 PM today.

Maine DEP has divided the state into regions. Therefore, forecasts at specific sites are likely representative of areas around them. For an idea of the area represented by each site please see the forecast regions on either the Air Quality Home page or the larger map on the Current Running Averages page.

The 'Current Peak Conditions' displays an average which is based on formula that predicts the next several hours. The 'Current Hour's Conditions' displays the most current hour of data.

Data and forecasts presented on this map are contained in a nationwide mapping file from EPA's AIRNOW program. Maine data originates from MEDEP, Tribal environmental programs, and EPA's CASTNET program.
