Leaking Underground Storage Tanks
On July 21, 2009, the Department was awarded $1.4 million in ARRA funding for the clean up and removal of leaking underground gasoline storage tanks (USTs). These monies were awarded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The selected projects are located across the state from Eliot to St. Francis. The clean up work will be performed through contract, with projects ranging in cost from $3,000 to almost $500,000.
