Developmental Services - Quality of Life Survey
Quality of Life Interview
Maine Developmental Services conducts Quality of Life (QOL) interviews as part of the National Core Indicators Project. The aim of the initiative is to develop nationally recognized performance and outcome indicators that will enable developmental disabilities policy makers to benchmark the performance of their state against the performance of other states. Currently, over 22 states participate. National Core Indicators also enable each participating state developmental disabilities agency to track system performance and outcomes from year to year on a consistent basis.
The QOL project is managed by the DHHS Office of Continuous Quality Improvement Services (OCQI) working in collaboration with Developmental Services. The QOL is used as standard tool to collect and report information gathered around specific indicators of quality and overall satisfaction with services and supports. Individuals receiving case management and a home support service through Developmental Services are eligible to participate. Over a three year period, a percentage of those eligible are selected each year and asked to participate. The interview is voluntary. Agencies statewide are asked to conduct interviews. Results are analyzed and submitted nationally on an annual basis.
