Mission Statement: "We provide people in our programs the highest level of personal development"
Description of Services:
Child Development Center
The Child Development Center is licensed developmental therapy program. Children from age 2 to
5 years and younger are provided individual teaching and, if needed, speech therapy,
physical therapy and occupational therapy, all on site. With a low student to teacher ratio,
we are able to focus on all areas of development, including social, emotional, physical and
speech/language as well as cognitive. Our goal at CDC is to provide a smooth transition to
the public school or preschool setting. ·
Opportunity Training Center
The Opportunity Training Center is a special purpose private school (grades K-12) that serves
students with moderate to severe disabilities from surrounding school districts. Our low student
to teacher ratio enables us to offer a varied and individualized curriculum. Teaching focuses
on fine and gross motor skills, self help skills and academic development. A fully functional
adaptive living skills room provides the opportunity for students to practice those skills
needed to increase independence. Activities are provided to promote students' integration into
the community. Speech, physical and occupational therapy are available. Our students are prepared
for inclusion in public schools and provided with the skills they need to be more independent
when they leave OTC.
Residential Services
Central Aroostook ARC is currently providing residential support in three Waiver homes in Presque
Isle, one Waiver home in Mapleton and one in Caribou. The agency provides support to individuals
in their own homes, apartments, and communities through the Personal/Home Supports Program. Central
Aroostook ARC is an oversight agency for Shared Living models of residential placement and currently
oversees 9 sites. All residential services emphasize individual growth and independence.
Programs are individualized according to each person's personal needs and life goals.

is an enclave at the Presque Isle Recycling Center, the other two are Aroostook Shredding and

programs can include either center based or community based activities. The Program offers
