Description of Services:

• About the organization: Established in 1971, The Coastal Workshop is a private, nonprofit corporation governed by a local Board of Directors. The purpose of Coastal Workshop is to provide services to adults with mental retardation and/or autism that will offer them the opportunity to contribute to their own welfare, to the welfare of others and to produce in a way which is meaningful to them. The mission of The Coastal Workshop is to enable adults with mental retardation and/or autism to become participating members in their social and economic community.
• About Adult Community Case Management services (ACCM): The Coastal Workshop has provided case management services since certified as an approved provider of case management services for adults with developmental disabilities in 2003. Adult Community Case Managers, working with the client and others identified by the client develop a comprehensive individual support plan (Person Centered Plan) that reflects the individual's personal vision for a desired life. Referrals for Adult Community Case Management services may be made to the contact person listed above.

The area served by Coastal Workshop Adult Community Case Management services includes Knox, Lincoln and Waldo Counties . Referrals for individuals residing outside that area will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
