Facilities of 1-2 beds don't need a license.

Carol,

Perhaps I have missed something here, but how is it that CRMAs are
allowed to administer medications in an unlicensed facility? I have
always operated on the understanding that the administration of
medications by unlicensed staff could only be done in Maine in a
licensed facility.

Could you please clarify?

Thanks

deb

Instructors, thanks for your responses regarding the 40 hour certificate
with the Pink validation.

After considering the changes we made in the new validation form, you
do not need to complete the form in pink. We needed it with the old
forms as their was some confusing in data entry with two 40 hour type
classes.

As long as the certificate is sent in with the validation form circling
the CRMA with the date of the passes, the clerical staff will enter
these students in as 40 hour certificates with the RN passes needed
written on the certificate.

For all 24 hour classes and 40 hour classes with passes done by a CRMA
with one year experience, these medication passes may be done in an
unlicensed facility.
