Carol,
We need to have people complete their refresher/bridge class a month or
two before their old cert expires, to assure they don't run over due to
sickness or family emergencies that might interfere with a last-minute
class. Please advise.
Thanks,
Ham.

Instructors, if you send a student to a bridge class for medication
errors
or agency policy dictates certification more often that every two years,
the
student will not receive another certificate. This would be considered
inservice training and your agency should complete an inservice form for
the
employee file. Our data base will contain the original certificate
indicating the actual certificate renewal time. We will not issue an
additional bridge/refresher course certificate.
When students are enrolled in the CDMA class, please request a copy of
their
CNA certificate. You may call Sally Flasher at 287-9310 to determine if
the
student has been annotated from the registry. If you have a licensed
person
who wants to become a CDMA, you may call Gin Delormier at 287-1133
option 3
to ask about annotation or active licensor. An LPN or a RN who has an
active license does not need to take a CDMA course. The active LPN or RN
license does not keep that person from being accountable. Agencies
should
not use the CDMA curriculum in this manner. this for "unlicensed"
personnel
only.
Please remind student to send the clinical medication pass sheets back
to
the instructor. Those sent directly to Assisted Living will not be
processed without the correct information identifying the class.
