Subject: Reciprocity fees

Reciprocity fees are delineated in the Rules Relating to Radiation Protection (Rules) Part C.23.

If a specifically licensed company from an agreement state or an NRC state wishes to enter Maine to work on a generally licensed gauge(see C.6.B(1)) then there will not be a reciprocity fee charged. If however the company wishes to enter the state to work on a generally licensed gauge that the Maine licensee has added to their specific license than a fee will be charged for service.

If a company that is applying for reciprocity has submitted an application to us for a new license then the reciprocity fee will be waived until the new license is issued. If the new license is not approved or the application is withdrawn then the reciprocity fee will be withdrawn from the submitted amount.

W. Clough Toppan, P.E., Director
Division of Health Engineering
