Mandated Reporter Training - Unit 5

Purpose:

To describe the case process and possible outcomes.

Intake

At this stage in the process, cases may be:

  • Inappropriate
  • Appropriate
  • Referred Elsewhere

REMEMBER:The clearer you can describe the behavior that you see and how it impacts the child, the better the decision can be made by DHHS.

 

Assessment

  • Assessment (includes home visits, interviews with family members, collateral contacts).
  • Decision - Abuse/Neglect Substantiated/Indicated or Not.
  • Unsubstantiated Case is closed and/or may include agency referrals.
