The Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) serves Maine's children and their families through the Divisions of Child Welfare, Children's Behavioral Health, Early Childhood, and Public Service Management.

Child abuse reports are investigated on behalf of Maine communities, working to keep children safe and to guide families in creating safe homes for children. A source of information for parents, child care providers, early childhood educators, and others interested in the health and development of young children and their families.
Information and referrals for children with behavioral health care needs such as developmental disabilities/delays, mental retardation, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, (PDD)/autism, substance abuse, and mental health disorders.
Public Services Management provides oversight to Community Services, Residential and Information Services
