Early Childhood

Early Childhood Services focus on increasing access to and quality of  child care services, supporting Head Start programs, coordination of child care licensing, technical assistance, training and employer incentives. The Associate Director of the Policy & Prevention Team is responsible for the oversight, integration, and coordination of Early Childhood Services to support Maine's Families.

Child Care and Head Start - Information for parents, child care providers, early childhood educators, and others interested in the health and development of young children and their families.

Home Visiting - Offers voluntary parent education and family supports for first time families with children aged prenatal through five years. (Under Maine CDC) 

Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention Councils - Provides parenting information, education, and support, as well as training for mandated reporters of suspected child abuse and neglect.

Early Childhood Initiative - Working to create and sustain a unified, statewide early childhood service system which provides the essential resources, shares common standards for quality and respects the diversity and uniqueness of individual children and their families.
