Peter--Thank you for responding to my e-mail---your response is a prime
example of the type of communication that is going on---you say that it is
"expected" that we would give out the curriculum, yet on Aug 8th, when I came up and
picked up this $25.00 masterpiece, Carol told me that the students could not
even have up to page 75--that I was to pass out the appendices only, if I wanted
to. Now we hear different, after I have sent a full class of angry CRMA's out
in to the general public.. When did this unwritten rule get changed, and why
weren't we all notified in writing of the change? The prime reason for
policies and procedures regarding anything you personally tell us to do with the
materials. At any rate, I personally will continue to teach the way I always
have---by providing the students with the materials necessary to get refreshed and
then tested on it in the afternoon. Some of the students told me that they
were writing letters to the editor of several newspapers---that is how desperate
they felt!!
Yes you did inform me of the October meeting----I am talking about the
committee for writing the manual---just who was on it---you, Donnie and Carol? I
did not attend the meeting for a few reasons---one, I had a scheduled class to
teach that day and even if I didn't I would have chosen not to come, due to
the fact that we were all told to come to the meeting with our concerns written
on paper, that they may not be addressed at the meeting, and not to come with
negative comments. Why bother attending any meeting that tells you to come, be
quiet, don't expect a response and no negative comments? I figured that I
would not be able to hold back, and after my brother Tom was a recipient to one
of your banging fists on the table saying, "I have the power to shut down
anyone in this state", I choose not to subject myself to that kind of immature
behavior. My brother was appalled. YOU are supposed to be our leader, the person
we can count on for help, and advocate vs. warden of the staff in assisted
living-not someone that every administrator has to tip toe around the ego bruising
with. Having worked in positions of leadership all of my life, I can't
imagine having to constantly deal with the fact that you don't like negative
comments, don't like faxes, phone calls and only respond to emails----therefore, I
still would like to know who the committe was and when they met?
Thank you in advance for your response,
Betsy
