Betsy

I decided that with all the feedback I received that I did not need to
formulate a committee and that I had enough information to begin preparing
the curriculum. It was basically taken from the existing 40-hour
curriculum.

I agree. As with any new curriculum, the process continues with making
changes.

Thank you Betsy

Peter---One more time I am asking you the following questions, and we would
all like some answers--thank you--

    1. Who was on the committee for this curriculum? Yes you had a feedback
meeting, but who was hand picked to help you write it? All we ever heard
was that you were going to hand pick the members, and no one ever heard a
thing.

    2. How in the world can we expect 100% accuracy on the MAR, when some of
the tests are not even 100% accurate? If we want to set a good example than
we must be accurate in our materials.

    3. Alot of the small group home budgets to not allow the purchase of a
computer, so if they don't have one to e-mail you, will you continue to not
return phone calls, ignore faxes and/or have Carol do your return messaging?
No one ever said to deal with the department we must all have a
computer---when mine was down for a few months you wouldn't even have the
common courtesy to return phone calls or faxes---a common complaint
throughout the state. Alot of administrators have told me how often they get
yelled at in phone conversations with you, so it is obvious that they are
safer to e-mail---I can't imagine yelling at people I am supposed to be
assisting from the state level.

   4. Yes, you are responsible for development of curriculum, but I am sure
not to be done single handedly. I am certain when Scholastic books writes
every text they publish they have committees for each one, and they merely
sell the text books, as you did to us. They are not involved in making up
the rules to follow when the teacher administers the curriculum. Having
taught at all levels, I have always followed a suggested guideline and
incorporated a lot of my own experience etc;, as a result have gained and
earned a fine reputation in nursing and teaching and consulting. If you want
to dish out orders on how to conduct these programs, then why are there no
written policies and procedures, as required for any program run or
supervised by the state departments?

Hate to have to keep typing these questions but after a few years of asking
and getting no response, I decided to put it out in this manner. Maybe it
will help, if all could see the answers. I have no idea who wrote and said
to "remember, that Peter doesn't like negative comments", however, I am here
to speak the plain and simple truth only---no tip toeing around ego's, nor
sweeping it all under the rug---just plain and simple truth that must be
dealt with---thank you Betsy
