Peter has updated the PSS "Process Form" list on the PSS website to include
the Skills checklist.
For information to the instructors regarding comparable training:
1. PCA's are grandfathered unless they work in a Level IV facility 20 hours
a week or more, then they must have the PSS. The PSS is now the Required
training for Level IV employees who work more than 20 hours a week per
Regulation 13.6.1.
2. RCS I's are grandfathered to work in a Level IV facility no matter how
many hours a week. (They can take PSS training if they or their facility
want)
3. All new employees without a PCA or RCS training must take the PSS if
working more than 20 or more hours in a Level IV facility per Regulation
13.6.1.
4. DHS has entered into an agreement with BDS for 10 homes that will be
allowed to substitute the new Direct Support Professional: Adult Mental
Retardation Services course. They are:
