beas-pss Number of students in a class

From: Davis, Carol A (Carol.A.Davis@maine.gov)
Date: Wed May 05 2004 - 15:12:27 EDT

We have had four incidents of over enrollment in classes.
The maximum enrollment numbers are as follows :
1. 40 hour classes are 10
2. Bridge classes are 15
3. PSS classes are 12
4. 24 hour classes are at the instructor's discretion.
We are in the process of selectively monitoring classes to see if a higher
enrollment is practical.
If students are having transportation problems, just showing up, or other
issues that accidently increase the enrollment; the instructor must still
adhere to enrollment numbers. If we become aware of any other classes with
even one student over, Peter will select a student that will not receive
their certificate, even if they have completed the course satisfactorily. We
are going to be looking at the enrollment rosters more closely. There will
be no shifting of students by the instructor from one class the student has
completed and adding them to another class by name to hide over enrollment.
Thank You.
