Juvenile Treatment Network

The Juvenile Corrections Substance Abuse Treatment Network is a coordinated statewide system providing a centralized screening and referral process to identify juvenile offenders with substance use issues. The Office of Substance Abuse (OSA) and the Department of Corrections collaborate on this project. OSA contracts with Day One for the management of the network.

Since the network was established in 1998, 5427 juvenile offenders have been screened. Of these 5427, 2950 or 54% were referred for further evaluation of their substance use/abuse.

There are over 50 Agencies that have become members of the Juvenile Treatment Network. These agencies span over 16 counties. Centralized screening services are offered at nearly 90 sites. The juvenile screening assessment tool is offered by treatment professionals at community substance abuse agencies, by juvenile probation officers, as well as several area schools. Referrals are made when results suggest the necessity for continued evaluation by a substance abuse professional.
