The toll free number …1-888-261-6684 - (TTY Accessible) is now installed and ready for use, as well as included in general correspondence to client families, and community providers.

Clients need to stay in contact with their community and family supports and sometimes the cost of a phone call has interfered with maintaining these relationships. Recovery from mental illness is expedited by strong community connections and supports. Sometimes the unintended consequence of hospitalization is a loss of those relationships

The toll free 1-888 number will be made available for anyone wishing to contact Riverview but is primarily targeted toward those patients who have family members or friends that want to maintain contact with them.

This is the first time AMHI/Riverview Psychiatric Center has implemented such a service. We are anticipating greater phone traffic at our switch board, but if it means clients are able to routinely connect with loved ones in the community, we welcome the increase.
