Job duties:  
 The Department of Health & Human Services, Riverview Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting for an Intensive Case Manager to provide professional services work in the area of intensive case management for high-risk mental health clients within the hospital at Riverview and during their transition into the community.  Individuals will act as a single identifiable support in a comprehensive and individualized approach to transition clients from the hospital into the community ensuring basic living needs are met and assisting clients in gaining access to medical and psychiatric requirements, rehabilitation, social, peer, educational, psychological support services.  Direct monitoring of client integration progress and overall service delivery system. Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of/worked within a comprehensive community mental health system.

Requirements:
In order to qualify, you must have a Bachelors Degree in one of the Social or Behavioral Sciences or a related field and four years experience in professional community mental health work.  A Masters Degree in Social Work may be substituted for two years experience.  Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with the Recovery Model and peer support programs.

Job duties:  
This is maintenance and personal services work in providing custodial services to buildings and grounds of a mental health hospital.  Work includes delivering food carts, cleaning residential and grounds areas including bedrooms, dayrooms, dining areas, bathrooms, corridors and program areas.  Additional responsibilities include shoveling, sanding, moving furniture, assisting clients in learning general custodial tasks, and escorting contractors to specific work locations.  Work requires considerable physical effort and exposure to abnormal human behavior.  Work is performed under general supervision.

Shift Required:
Sunday through Thursday 6:00am-2:30pm.

Requirements:
Experience in housekeeping and the physical capacity to perform a wide variety of custodial tasks.

Job description:  
Riverview Psychiatric Center is seeking a Hospital Nurse II to provide professional nursing work involving the care and treatment of clients who are mentally, emotionally or physically ill. Responsibilities include overseeing and providing medical and/or psychiatric nursing care in an outpatient setting.   Work is performed under limited supervision.  Representative Tasks involved are:

  • Administers medications and treatments in order to ensure client receive proper medication and treatment in a timely manner.
  • Writes client progress reports in medical record.
  • Conducts group counseling therapy in order to provide client treatment.
  • Reports on clients' condition to other appropriate professionals in order to provide information and recommend changes to treatment program.
  • Acts as a Case Manager for up to eight clients, to include face to face interaction on a weekly basis.

Requirements:
A Bachelors Degree in Nursing or related field -OR- graduation from an accredited school of nursing plus one (1) year of professional nursing experience.

Licensing Requirement:  A license as a Registered Nurse as issued by the Maine State Board of Nursing.

Job duties:  
This professional services position provides general medical treatment to patients in a 92 bed state institution. Responsibilities include examining, diagnosing, and treating physical illnesses and overseeing the treatment carried out by others. This position will work in a team with another internist and a family nurse practitioner to provide primary care and preventative services, manage acute and chronic medical conditions, perform admission histories and physicals, refer to community subspecialists for specialty care, order lab and radiological tests, and coordinate primary care follow-up at discharge. This classification is differentiated from the Physician II level in that the work requires certification in a specialty area by National Certification Board. Work is performed under administrative direction of the hospital Medical Director.  No night or weekend duties are required of this position.

Representative Tasks:

  • Plans, assigns, and reviews work of nursing and after hours medical staff and advises in treatment and care of patients in order to ensure quality care and treatment.
  • Examines, evaluates, and diagnoses patient’s medical illnesses, or directs others in same in order to formulate appropriate care and treatment of individual patients.
  • Treats patients for medical illnesses in order to restore them to health.
  • Writes medical discharge summary in order to preserve an accurate record of patient’s medical condition upon discharge.
  • Examines and assesses degree of illness of patients at time of admission in order to determine whether admission is warranted.

Requirements:
Possession of a current license to practice medicine in the State of Maine and National Board Certification in a primary care medical specialty. Must qualify for and maintain Riverview medical staff membership. Board certified in family practice or internal medicine preferred.

Employees may act as group leader or primary aide over an assigned group of patients. Work is performed under general supervision.

Minimum Qualifications/License Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a Department approved training or current valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant as issued by the Maine Department of Education. To be considered, applicants without a CNA must have one year of direct care mental health experience and be able to get their license at their own expense within 6 months.
