Northern States Dogfish Quota Reached; Fishery Closed September 1, 2011 to May 1, 2012

EFFECTIVE 0001 HOURS, SEPTEMBER 1, 2011 THROUGH 0001 HOURS MAY 1, 2012

The Maine Department of Marine Resources would like to inform commercial fishermen and dealers that the annual quota for spiny dogfish is projected to be harvested as of August 31, 2011. It is unlawful to land spiny dogfish in the State of Maine that is in excess of the annual quota established by the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission and the Department of Marine Resources.
