00:00-00:09 Music plays and pans around outside of Maine State Aquarium.
00:10-01:35 Director speaks about the Aquarium, while camera shows close-up of her and exhibits:
“I’m Aimee Hayden-Roderiques. I am the Natural Science Educator or Aquarium Director here at the Maine State Aquarium.
“The Maine State Aquarium provides an intimate look at some of the species that dwell within the Gulf of Maine - but it really provides visitors and families with a chance to get up close and personal with them, particularly at our two touch tanks where we have a variety of invertebrate specimens - things you can find in tide pools. We also have a shark and skate touch tank, so people are allowed to get a little closer and touch those animals as well and we hope by doing that people get a chance to not only get up close, but also build a fondness for them - as well as see that sharks aren't quite the scary creatures that people make them out to be. They are gentle, they can be very friendly, and it provides us an opportunity to educate people about them.
“We always have a big lobster on display because lobstering is such an important part of Maine’s culture. Every year we always have something new and special that we may not have had before. This year it’s our Seahorses - it’s the first year we have ever had those. Our other big draw is that every year we have a wide variety of different colors and patterns of lobsters.
“We are located in West Boothbay Harbor, right across the harbor from Boothbay. Call our number which is 207-633-9559. We also have email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Those are really the best ways to get in touch with us. ”
