Maine Shrimp Trappers May Bait and Set Traps Two Days Before the Season Opens

Attention Shrimp Trappers - The Acting Commissioner of Marine Resources, Patrick Keliher, has notified the Maine Marine Patrol that shrimp trappers can bait and set shrimp traps beginning January 28, 2012. However, trappers cannot posses or land shrimp until the season opens on February 1. Failure to comply could result in the suspension of your commercial shrimp fishing license.
