Comprehensive Land Use Plan Revision

PUBLIC HEARINGS

 

The Commission will hold a formal public hearing on the proposed Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The hearing will consist of three sessions held in Augusta, Bangor, and Presque Isle in order to offer oral testimony to the Commission. The record for submitting written testimony to the Commission will remain open until October 21, 2009.

 

The purpose of the hearing is to allow interested groups and the public the opportunity to present testimony and comment on the proposed Comprehensive Land Use Plan. Frequently Asked Questions

 

HOW TO PARTICIPATE: 

· Attend one of the hearing sessions listed below: Attend one of the sessions listed below and offer oral testimony which would have a bearing on this Plan. The public is not required to submit written testimony beforehand. Members of the public may simply attend the hearing and give oral testimony. In preparation for these sessions the Commission Chair has prepared a document outlining the ‘Rules Governing Public Testimony’.

· Listen to the Live Audio of hearings if you're unable to attend.

· Submit written testimony: Submit written testimony to the Commission which would have a bearing on this Plan. Written comments should be sent to Maine Land Use Regulation Commission, 22 State House Station, Augusta, Maine, 04333-0022. Comments may also be submitted by e-mail to LURC@maine.gov. When submitting written comments by email, please indicate CLUP Comments in the subject line.  

o Wednesday, September 9, 2009 – Open the written comment period.

 

o Wednesday, October 21, 2009 –Close of comment period for filing written statements in rebuttal of previously filed statements.

 

o Wednesday, October 28, 2009 – Deadline to file written statements in rebuttal of statements filed previously.
