Statewide Standards for Timber Harvesting and Related Activities in Shoreland Areas. When will they take effect in my town?

The new standards have not yet taken effect. At this time existing municipal ordinances still apply, even in towns that have provisionally adopted new standards. Towns are responsible for enforcement of the timber harvesting standards in their original shoreland zoning ordinances. The Maine Forest Service will not take over enforcement until the new standards take effect. READ MORE - (pdf| 56KB)
