Figure 3a. Graded bed seen at the top of the section in Figure 3 with the top and bottom of the bedding labeled to show overturned bedding. This is an example of a bed that has been turned upside-down by folding. The bed extends from lower left across the middle of the photograph to upper right. The base of the bed is near the top of the photograph and beneath the darker colored phyllite. The base consists of coarse sand which now grades downward through finer material to the next fine-grained, dark phyllite.
