Christine Feurt, Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve

Christine Feurt coordinates the Coastal Training Program at the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve. She also directs the Center for Sustainable Communities in the Department of Environmental Studies at the University of New England. Feurt has designed her entire educational and professional career around her love of beaches. She holds a Bachelor of Science in zoology from the University of Maryland, a master’s degree in biology from the College of William and Mary, and a Ph.D. in environmental studies from Antioch University New England. She lives with her husband and daughter one mile from Parson's Beach in Kennebunk.
