Figure 68. Ferry Beach, Saco. Standard deviation data at FE2FS (a) show 0.5 to 0.75 m of vertical variability in both summer and winter seasons. At FE2BS (b) the summer-winter variability is smaller than for FE2FS but the winter dune crest elevations show slightly more variability than in summer. Standard deviation data at FE3FS (c) show a 0.5-0.75 m change in winter beach elevation, slightly more than in summer. At FE3BS (d) the summer beach appears to vary little in elevation while the winter beach exhibits about 0.4 m of variability in the dune and offshore portions of the profile. The greatest variability at FE4FS was in the berm area during winter (e). Standard deviation data at FE4BS (f) show elevation changes on the order of 0.2 to 0.4 m. in both winter and summer seasons.
