Notes about using BP&L's Conservation and Recreation Lands Google Application:

  1. Visit the Google Earth Help Center for understanding of Google Earth and its abilities and limitations. This Google Earth link will help you download and install the software on your PC.
  2. Once you have launched the Google Earth application you can choose map layer options from the menu at the left and you can obtain information on each property or site.
  3. You can obtain information on each property by clicking on points or properties to generate a data table.
  4. The data in the map layers or tables are defined in the following links:
    1. Parcels Table:  (Click anywhere on the parcel): provides data about the individual parcels acquired over time to create the property as it exists today.
    2. Contact Information Table:  (Click on yellow dots in the center of the parcel):  provides contact information for the Bureau of Parks and Lands owned properties.  Additionally the link will direct you to a gps downloadable file in three different file formats; csv, text and dbf. The Latitude and Longtitude coordinates are in decimal degrees.
    3. Land and Water Conservation Sites Table:  (Click anywhere on the blue balloon symbols):  these sites designate recreation project or lands acquired using federal Land and Water Conservation Funds.
You can obtain information on boating access sites by clicking on the boat symbols in Google Earth.  Additional information listing boating sites by town, waterbody, county, tidal and freshwater can be found on the Bureau's Boating Facilities Website.

Launch our Bureau of Parks and Lands Conservation and Recreation Lands map here.  Google Earth should automatically execute.
