Maine State Parks Group Camping

Maine State Park campgrounds provide an ideal setting for your groups next overnight excursion. Our group campsites are designed for use by organizations and larger family camping trips (parties of more than six individuals sharing camping and cooking equipment). Group campsite at Lily Bay State Park

All group campsites can be reserved in advance, and we recommend reservations. For campsite specific information and to make reservations, please contact the State Park or the regional office. Phone numbers are listed below. We begin taking Group Site Reservations each year on the first business day in January at 9:00 a.m.

Maine State Parks:

Allagash Wilderness Waterway:
Group camping on the Allagash Wilderness Waterway is STRICTLY LIMITED. For more information, please contact the Northern Region Office at 207 941-4014.

Aroostook State Park:
A favorite spot for Boy and Girl Scout troops, Aroostook State Park’s group site can accommodate up to 30 campers. Tent camping only. For more information, please contact the park at 207 768-8341

Bradbury Mountain State Park:
A group area near park headquarters can hold groups up to 100 campers. Tent camping only. For more information, please contact the park at 207 688-4712.

Camden Hills State Park:
Five campsites, each with a capacity of approximately 35 campers, are located on the ocean side of the park. Newly constructed bathrooms feature hot showers. For more information, call 207 236-3109 (May – October) or 207 236-0849 (November – April).

Lamoine State Park:
Two new group campsites can be combined to accommodate tenting groups up to 60 campers. For more information, call 207 667-4778 (April – October) or 207 941-4014 (November – March).

Lily Bay, Mud Brook:
A private peninsula on Moosehead Lake, Mud Brook is one of the most sought after group sites in the state of Maine. This site is equipped with a large fire ring, hand pump for water, several picnic tables, an Adirondack shelter, and outhouse. Tent camping only. There is a site minimum of 10 campers, with a maximum of 50, per night. For more information, please call 207 941-4014 (January – April) or 207 695-2700 (May – September).

Mount Blue State Park:
Two lakeside group sites and one at the base of Mt. Blue each with its own Adirondack shelter can accommodate groups up to 40 campers (tents only). Sites are in proximity to the nature center, boat launch, and Mt. Blue. For more information, please contact the park at 207-585-2261.

Penobscot River Corridor:
Group camping on the Penobscot River Corridor is STRICTLY LIMITED. For more information, please contact the Northern Region Office at 207 941-4014.

Rangeley Lake State Park:
Two wooded group campsites can accommodate groups up to 50 campers. Tent camping only. For more information, call 207 864-3858 (April – October) or 207 624-6080 (November – March).

Sebago Lake State Park:
A popular location for group camping, Sebago Lake State Park provides tent camping opportunities at fourteen group campsites. Amenities include water access, swimming beaches, drinking water, hiking trails, picnic tables and campfire rings. Hot showers and flush toilets are available. Some sites have Adirondack shelters. Groups of more than 100 campers may be accommodated. For more information, please contact the park at 207 693-6231.

Warren Island State Park:
Nestled in the center of Warren Island’s 55 acres are 3 large campsites with a combined maximum capacity of 50 campers. Please note that this is a water access park in Penobscot Bay. Each site is equipped with fire pit, picnic table, and adjacent outhouse. For more information, please call the Northern Region office at 207 941-4014.
