  1. Review preliminary determination of educators impacted by definition of ‘teacher’ and ‘principal’ in this system
  2. Understand the basic structure and elements of a performance evaluation and professional growth system (PE/PG system)
  3. Discuss and decide how the process of determining achievement of professional practice standards will be used in PE/PG systems for teachers and for principals
  4. Discuss possible other measures for inclusion in the system
  5. Determine immediate next topics to address during the next meeting

9:00 AM - Welcome, introductions, and overview of the agenda

9:05 - Briefing on progress of ESEA Flexibility Workgroups

9:15 - Quick review of the basic elements of a PE/PG system

9:25 - Recap initial determination of educators impacted by the definition of ‘teacher’ and ‘principal’ in the system

9:40 - Discuss/ Decide, with regard to the determination of achievement of professional practice standards for teachers, whether to recommend that the State:

  1. Adopt one set of rubrics and scoring guidelines
  2. Allow districts to choose from among a fixed set of rubrics and scoring guidelines
  3. Create our own set of rubrics and scoring guidelines
  4. Develop a set of criteria for the adoption of rubrics and scoring guidelines, which would allow districts to choose one of these sets of rubrics and scoring guidelines or a set like these that they either develop or adopt
