Maine EMS Transition to NREMT

On June 1, 2012, State practical skills evaluations (PSEs) for First Responder, EMT-Basic and EMT-Intermediate will convert to the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) process. In addition, the EMT-Intermediate cognitive exam will convert to the NREMT computer-based test on June 1st. With the changes in June, all levels of Maine EMS provider license testingwill be based upon or use the psychomotor and cognitive exams from NREMT.

Applying for a First Responder,EMT-Basic or EMT-Paramedic Computer Based Exam (CBT)

Maine EMS uses the National Registry of EMT's (NREMT's) computer based test (CBT) to fulfill State of Maine cognitive testing requirements for persons seeking a Maine EMS license as a First Responder, EMT-Basic or EMT-Paramedic.
