60th Maine State Police Training Troop
60th Maine State Police Training Troop
All seven members that started the 60th Recruit Training Troop have previously completed their basic training. Five recruits completed the Basic Law Enforcement Training Program at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and two recruits completed their basic training in other states. Four Recruits graduated the Basic Law Enforcement Training Program on May 22, 2009 and have worked in various units within the Maine State Police in the interim. These recruits worked in the highly advanced Computer Crimes Unit, Commercial Vehicle Unit and Criminal Investigative Division where they became introduced to the workings of a few specialized units within the State Police. These Recruits finished their time in the Troops they will be assigned to after the RTT, learning their patrol areas and beginning a modified field training program. The three additional Recruits joined the 60th Recruit Training Troop with a variety of previous experience in law enforcement.
Regardless of their education, work and life experiences, the 60th Recruit Training Troop has come together as a unit to prepare for their next evolution in training. The Recruits prepare their equipment, minds and bodies for an intense nine weeks of training beginning October 5, 2009.
