Communications

The Department of Public Safety operates four regional communication centers (RCC), 22 transmitter sites and over 100 repeater and base stations. They also serve as the central computer link for Maine police agencies seeking information from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and the National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System.

The department's four RCCs operate round-the-clock:
