Commanding officer - Lt. John E. Cote – John-Paul.E.Cote@maine.gov
Troop F is responsible for police coverage for all of Aroostook County and the northern parts of Penobscot, Piscataquis and Somerset Counties. Aroostook has 9,128 square miles. Aroostook has almost 3,000 miles of public roads and another 5,000 miles of logging roads. The wide-open spaces of farmland along Route 1 make traveling treacherous in winter. Traveling is also treacherous on Rt. 11 because of the logging traffic and the high amount of moose accidents. Aroostook has a population of 72,000 people who are mostly involved in the farming/logging industry.
Troop F also has 49 miles of interstate and aircraft details help reduce the amount of speeders. The Troop has one Lieutenant, Three sergeants, Eighteen Troopers and one secretary. The Barracks in Houlton is also a Regional Communications Center for the County with eight Public Safety Dispatchers and we also staff one mechanic with a two bay garage.
