Gold Star Family License Plate

Public Law Chapter 246 signed into law June 7, 2011 during the First Regular Session of the 125th Legislature established the Gold Star Family License Plate.
Eligibility for the Gold Star Family License Plate is based upon very specific criteria. To be eligible for the plate, the family member must have received a Gold Star Lapel Button (purple background) from the casualty branch of service jurisdiction, or be eligible to receive a Gold Star Lapel Button from the federal government. The Gold Star Lapel Button signifies that the service member was killed-in-action or died in a combat theater of operations. A picture of the Lapel Button is displayed on the license plate.
Please see the back of the application form for more details on eligibility criteria.
