RE: Average Daily Attendance Data Needed
The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) requires states to identify schools not making Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) based on academic and non-academic measures. For high schools the law requires us to look at graduation rates. For elementary and middle schools, Maine has selected average daily attendance rates as its non-academic measure.
Therefore, we need to collect the aggregate daily attendance and the aggregate daily membership for elementary/middle schools for the 2003-04 school year. Please go to the following Internet link to fill out the information for your school district(s);
http://www.maine.gov/education/adaform/loginpage.htm
NOTE: To access the web form, you will need to use the same superintendent login ID used for the School Lunch Reimbursement System.
The information being requested can be found on the Elementary/Secondary School Register, Page 10, Lines 11 and 12.
We appreciate your quick response to this request. The DUE DATE is July 15, 2004.
