Serving Children with Special Needs
As in any K-12 public school program, schools are required
to provide services and programming to children with special needs. Schools should work with their local Child
Development Services Site, which is the system that ensures the provision of Chapter 180 statewide. Chapter 180 is the Maine Department of
Education Regulation for Early Intervention and Special Education for Children
Age Birth to Under Age Six.
