Carl D. Perkins Grant and Administration

The Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 provides an increased focus on the academic achievement of career and technical education students, strengthens the connections between secondary and postsecondary education, and improves state and local accountability. Please contact Margaret (Meg) Harvey at 207-624-6739 if you have questions about how this federal program is run in Maine.

On-Line Grant System Information

Career and Technical Education schools must apply each year for Perkins funds. The On-Line Grant System is software which facilitates this process. Directions for using the on-line grant system provide screen shots and explanations of how to move through the system. Once the grant is approved and local funds have been spent, monies are reimbursed to the local school units via the Federal Grant Reimbursement System. Contact Elaine Briggs for additional information on the reimbursement system (phone 207-624-6711).
