Carl D. Perkins Grant and Administration

The Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 provides an increased focus on the academic achievement of career and technical education students, strengthens the connections between secondary and postsecondary education, and improves state and local accountability. On-Line Grant System Information

Career and Technical Education schools must apply each year for Perkins funds. The On-Line Grant System is software which facilitates this process. Directions for using the on-line grant system provide screen shots and explanations of how to move through the system. Once the grant is approved and local funds have been spent, monies are reimbursed to the local school units via the Federal Grant Reimbursement System. Accountability Law - Section 113 of the Carl D. Perkins Act lists and discusses the indicators used to measure the effectiveness of the Federal dollars invested in Career and Technical Education.
Allowable Use of Funds, Section 135 - This section of the Carl D. Perkins Act lists and discusses the allowed uses of Federal funds provided under the Act.
Articulation Agreements - CTE schools and the community college system work together so that students have a variety of ways to earn college credit while still in high school.
