Association of Teachers of Mathematics in Maine (ATOMIM)
ATOMIM is a non-profit organization that, through the cooperative efforts of those individuals involved in mathematics and mathematics education at all levels, shall have as its purposes:
- to encourage and assist the improvement of the teaching of mathematics at all levels,
- to facilitate communications among teachers, administrators and the community about mathematics and mathematics learning, and
- to promote implementation of the NCTM Principles and Standards in an effort to build a mathematically empowered population.
ATOMIM holds an Annul Conference, conducts regional professional development and publishes a quarterly newsletter.

Association of Teachers of Mathematics in New England (ATMNE)
The Association of Teachers of Mathematics in New England, ATMNE is a consortium of regional sections from the six New England states. The purpose of ATMNE is to coordinate efforts of the Sections in order to facilitate increased interest in mathematics, to secure improvements in the teaching of mathematics, to establish close relations among teachers and users of mathematics, and to link organizations of mathematics teachers in New England into one cohesive association. ATMNE holds an Annual meeting, publishes a newsletter and the New England Math Journal.

National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM)
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is a public voice of mathematics education, providing vision, leadership and professional development to support teachers in ensuring equitable mathematics learning of the highest quality for all students. NCTM holds national and regional conferences each year, provides on-line professional development, publishes numerous mathematics education resources, and has a website loaded with teaching resources. Most of the website is open to all, but there are some “Members Only” sections.
